Many and varied were the duties of the Palestine Policeman.

One might find oneself patrolling the ancient hills of the various Police Districts in the Mounted Section of the Force or even in the Camel Corps of the Long Range Desert Patrol.

In the postwar years, patrols and convoy duties were carried out in G.M.C. Armoured Cars and these, on occasions, carried out long range patrols in the desert.

One might find oneself on foot patrol in the Old City of Jerusalem where the Moslem, Jewish and Christian Quarters existed side by side and where the holy places of their religions were situated.
