The
Palestine Police Old Comrades Association The Palestine Police Old Comrades Association, which now numbers some 1,100 members is non sectarian and non political in the strictest sense of the terms and was formed with the unification of the Palestine Police Association and the Old Comrades Association following the withdrawal, by His Majesty's Government, of the Mandate for Palestine on 15th. May, 1948. The Palestine Police Association had been formed in Palestine but
following the withdrawal of the Mandate, could no longer function in the
country of its inception but it That very spirit had been maintained by ex members of the Force in London who had formed The Old Comrades Association but in order to give adequate expression to the aims and objects of both the Palestine Police Association and the Old Comrades Association, one unified association was essential. The Palestine Police Old Comrades Association is the result of this
unification. The objects of the Association are to create and to maintain a bond of comradeship, irrespective of rank between all who have served in the Palestine Police in any capacity whatsoever and to assist any members in distressed circumstances. There is a saying in the Palestine Police Old Comrades Association:- "There is no promotion after Jerusalem." |
